Dream Casino: A Boutique Experience Awaits
On the southeast side of Las Vegas Boulevard, the Dream Las Vegas casino-hotel is finally gaining traction. This boutique-style destination promises an intimate escape with 531 rooms and a price tag of $550 to $575 million. Despite previous financing delays that stalled construction, the city council has granted a time extension, making this project one to watch as it moves forward this year.
M Resort Expansion: Going Bigger in Henderson
Not too far away, the M Resort is expanding its footprint with a new 384-room tower set to open in summer 2025. This $206 million project will enhance the resort experience by adding 40,000 square feet of convention space, making it a prime location for gatherings and events.
Durango Casino: Bigger and Better
The Durango Casino, which opened in December 2023, is about to embark on a major expansion. Owners Red Rock Resorts are investing approximately $116 million to add 25,000 square feet of casino space and 230 new slot machines, as well as a covered parking garage with over 2,000 spaces. This expansion reflects the growing success of the casino, located conveniently off the 215 Beltway.
Hard Rock: Transforming The Mirage
The much-anticipated transformation of The Mirage into a Hard Rock property is set to continue throughout 2025. Following its closure in July, construction is ongoing for a striking guitar-shaped hotel tower intended to replace the iconic Mirage volcano. The expansion will significantly increase casino space, convention areas, and dining options, promising to revitalize this historic site with modern flair.
Jokers Wild: A New Dawn at Cadence Crossing
In a bold move, Boyd Gaming is reinvesting in Southern Nevada with the Cadence Crossing casino set to replace Jokers Wild. Construction began in late 2024 on this new casino, which will feature a 10,000-square-foot gaming floor, dining options, and live entertainment. Positioned within the master-planned Cadence community, this venue aims to foster local growth and offer fresh entertainment options by 2026.
Former Riviera Site: Ambitious Mixed-Use Development
A new mixed-use development is poised to rise from the ashes of the former Riviera site, featuring breathtaking 600-foot towers and an awe-inspiring amusement ride. This ambitious project, proposed by Las Vegas developer Brett Torino, includes plans for a 750-room hotel and a 425-unit condominium complex, as well as a 3,310-seat domed performance venue that aims to attract large events.
Hylo Park: Building a Community Hub
Developer Agora Realty is spearheading the Hylo Park project, envisioned as a walkable mixed-use residential community on the site of the old Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho. The $380 million project plans to offer a blend of amenities, including a 175-room hotel, nearly 700 residential units, an ice rink, and even a vocational school. The centerpiece will be a 158,000-square-foot indoor multisport facility, designed to create a unique, community-oriented atmosphere.
5,000 Acres in North Las Vegas: Vision for the Future
Lastly, an exciting opportunity is unfolding as UNLV collaborates with North Las Vegas to explore the development of 5,000 acres of soon-to-be former federal land. This expansive area may host a North Campus for UNLV, in addition to health care facilities and residential housing, marking the area as a significant future hub for growth and innovation.
